We are hiring for the 2026 market season and looking for reliable, community-minded team members to help bring each market day to life.
OPEN POSITIONS
Market Days Manager (1 position)
Schedule
Saturdays from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Occasional Fridays for chalking (early morning or evening)
May 9 through October 31
Must commit to the full season (one weekend off allowed)
Compensation
$30 per hour
Paid biweekly
Role Overview
This role supports the full operation of weekly market days. You will work closely with the Executive Director to ensure smooth setup, vendor coordination, and breakdown each week.
Responsibilities
Chalk and mark booth spaces
Assist with full market setup and breakdown
Coordinate vendor load-in and placement
Support vendors and customers throughout the day
Help troubleshoot issues and keep the market running smoothly
Support SNAP and information booth operations
Assist with light social media support as needed
Volunteer Coordinators (2 positions)
Schedule
2nd Saturdays on Main only
5:45 AM to 2:00 PM
Dates: May 9, June 13, July 11, August 8, September 12, October 10
Must be available for all dates (one date off may be considered)
Compensation
$30 per hour
Paid biweekly

This role supports our largest market days by coordinating volunteers and assisting with overall event flow.
Responsibilities
Help manage and direct volunteers
Assist with market setup and breakdown
Support vendor load-in and placement
Be a point of contact for volunteers, vendors, and customers
Help troubleshoot issues and maintain flow throughout the day
Support SNAP and information booth operations
PHYSICAL + WORK ENVIRONMENT
These are active, outdoor roles that require physical stamina and flexibility.
Standing and walking for up to 8 hours
Lifting and carrying at least 40 lbs
Early morning start times
Working outdoors in sun, wind, or light rain
Fast-paced environment with a lot of moving parts
The Durango Farmers Market is more than a weekly event. It is a space where local agriculture, small businesses, and community come together.
Our team plays a hands-on role in making that happen. From early morning setup to supporting vendors and customers throughout the day, these roles are active, fast-paced, and deeply connected to the community.
